Vorer Alo Pad Bank
Pad bank activities in remote areas Social voluntary organization VORER ALO is implementing the rights of children, adolescents and youth in the Bangladesh. Now VORER ALO in the three mountainous districts of Bangladesh to tackle various challenges of adolescence, manage menstrual health, prevent child marriage, prevent violence against children and raise awareness about adolescent girls. The Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board and UNICEF are cooperating in this program. In doing so, we learned about the plight of adolescents in various high schools in remote areas. Most adolescents in these areas use unsafe and life-threatening clothing for menstruation. Also during the class, many get discouraged when they have menstruation. She has to leave school.
We are going to at least 17 high schools in the remote areas of Khagrachari and Bandarban by the first week of October. In addition to working there, We would like to have Pad Banks in every school to protect adolescents from embarrassing situations. Each pad bank will cost around Tk 6,000. When setting up a pad bank, we will keep the pad for 1 month in the bank so that when a schoolgirl gets menstruation, the pad will get rid of the discomfort with the free pad from the bank. In the following months, the students of the school will keep the pad bank at the rate of Rs. 1, 2 each, so that they can buy the pad and deposit it in the bank next month. For this we need 17 pad banks. I urge people from all walks of life to stay with us. If you also want, you can join this initiative by collaborating for a pad bank. To contact with us : +8801726409232
